Beacon-Hills of Amon Anwar

Original painting by Spiros Gelekas.

Beneath moonlit skies, a solitary traveler stands before the distant fire of the Beacon-Hills, surrounded by silence, open land, and the quiet immensity of Middle-earth at night.

Inspired by Tolkien’s world, Beacon-Hills of Amon Anwar approaches landscape not as spectacle, but as memory and atmosphere - a contemplative vision of distance, isolation, and the fragile presence of light within vast darkness.

The restrained composition and muted palette emphasize stillness and scale, allowing the winding path, distant mountain fire, and solitary figure to exist almost like fragments from an old forgotten tale.

Rather than illustrating a dramatic event, the painting reflects the emotional landscape often found throughout Tolkien’s mythology: quiet journeys, distant warnings, ancient lands, and the feeling of standing at the edge of something far greater than oneself.

Acrylic on canvas, 40x40cm.
